Hailing from Hollis, Queens, New York, RUN DMC was founded by members Joseph Simmons, Darryl McDaniels & Jason Mizell. Today they are considered to be one of the most influential groups in hip hop culture and acts of the 1980’s. In 2007, MTV ranked them as the Greatest Hip Hop Group of All Time and VH1 ranked them the Great Hip Hop Artist of All Time. They were only the second Hip Hop group to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2016 received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
